Ceramic Coating is typically made of liquid silica/SiO2, also known as fluorinated silane or sometime graphene coating. It usually comes in a small bottle of 50 ML to 1 liter and it is a liquid-like that can be applied to the surface of the car paint in order to form a thin layer of clear protection layer, usually 0.5-2 um, on the auto paint surface, protecting the paint from oxidization, dust, contaminants, bugs remains or other small stuff. Ceramic coating makes the car wash and cleaning process a lot easier. Many people call it nano ceramic coating,9H coating etc.- Nano is actually another concept, it means a unit of length, which is very small.
1.2 Coating Generations

2.How to Apply Ganlas Ceramic Coating
2.1 FS1 PPF Graphene Coating (for Paint Protection Film)
Clean vehicle with car shampoo to remove all particulate contaminants and grit from the PPF surface.
- Clay Bar Decontamination:
Use detailing clay to remove oxidation layers and bonded contaminants from the entire PPF surface. Proceed only when surface is contamination-free.
Apply F19 PPF Restorer using a DA polisher with yellow medium-cut foam pad. Perform full-surface polishing (use reduced pressure on matte PPF). Purpose: Eliminate residual contaminants/oxidation before coating.
- Surface Degreasing:
Spray degreaser and gently wipe to remove oils (from restorer). Rinse with soft water and dry completely with microfiber towels. Critical: Surface must be bone-dry before coating; avoid water contact.
- Coating Application:
Pour few drops of Graphene Coating Liquid onto the foam applicator. Apply in alternating horizontal/vertical motions on 40x40cm sections. Overlap edges between sections.
- Flash & Buff:
Immediately after application, gently buff residue using circular motions with included microfiber towel. Begin next section while previous one flashes: Warm temps ( >25°C): Wait ~2 minutes before buffing. Cool temps ( <15°C): Wait ~4 minutes before buffing.
- Curing:
24-hour cure time required. DO NOT: Touch surface or expose to water. Infrared lamp option: Cure time reduced to 2-3 hours.

2.2 FS2 9H Ceramic Coating (for Paint)
- Pre-Wash & Clay: Identical to FS1 Steps 1-2 (on paint surface).
- Paint Correction:
- Step 1 (Cutting): Use F201 Compound with wool pad (DA polisher) to remove scratches.
- Step 2 (Polishing): Use F202 Polish with yellow medium-cut foam pad to remove holograms/swirls.
- Step 3 (Refining): Use F203 Finishing Polish with red soft foam pad for maximum gloss. Degreasing & Drying: Identical to FS1 Step 4.
- Coating Application: Apply FS2 9H Coating using same 40x40cm section technique as FS1 Step 5.
- Flash & Buff:
- Buff immediately with microfiber towel in circular motions.
- Flash times:
- Warm temps: ~2 minutes
- Cool temps: ~6 minutes
- Curing: Identical to FS1 Step 7 (24 hrs standard / 2-3 hrs with IR lamp).
2.3 FS3 Graphene (for Paint)- best ceramic coating for detailing shop
The application process is exactly the same as the 9H ceramic coating. Just make sure every process is done according to the above steps. Graphene coating may look physically dark or black and some clients may ask if it is good for the white cars. Tell them it is totally no problem and it will be so spread out on the paint and will not make any light color look dark.

3.How to care for the ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is an extra layer of protection for paint. It works as a product that may be put on top of a car paint or PPF. Because ceramic coatings don’t absorb water, they can make it easy to clean and care for the car. To keep ceramic coating on a car looking its best for a long time, it is best to follow these important guidelines.
Care for Regular Maintenance
During the 48-hour Curing Period, don’t let water (rain or washing) touch the surface, the sun touch the surface, or anything else touch the surface. This first step is very important for ceramic molecular bonding. To cut down on early warranty claims, give them a signed acknowledgment form. If you don’t follow this, the coating won’t last as long and won’t work as well when it’s wet.
Wash your car often.
At least once a month, we recommend washing. If your car is excessively dirty, the ceramic coating will wear off or get damaged before it should. We also don’t recommend that the customer use tunnel washers or machine wash, whether it’s with a brush or not, because that can remove the coating on the surface.
Use the proper product for detailing.
Use shampoo that doesn’t change the pH. Do not use cleaners or chemicals that are too harsh or aggressive. Add Ganlas F11 Ceramic Boost Spray (paint) or F12 PPF Care Spray (film) while the surface is curing to make it more water-resistant.
The right tools.
Three buckets, wash mitts, and three grit guards are all you need. When you put your mittens back in the bucket to rinse them out or acquire clean soapy water, make sure the grit guards keep the dirt away from your mitts. Use a different wash mitt for the paint and the wheels. You should never wash the paint and the wheel with the same mitt at the same time. Use the spray-and-rinse method to get rid of things like bird droppings, but never use abrasive instruments or chemicals that are too acidic or too basic.
4.What kind of ceramic coating should you use in your detailing shop?
We see a lot of ceramic coating solutions with names that get more and more complicated, but they all do the same basic thing: they make a semi-permanent, protective molecular connection with a vehicle’s transparent coat. At Ganlas, we go beyond generic products with our three precision-engineered advanced coatings: PPF-Integrated Coating, 9H Nano-Ceramic Coating, and Graphene-Enhanced Ceramic Coating. Each one is designed for a different type of protection and market need.
This hybrid solution is the best in composite surface technology and was made specifically for maintaining paint protection film (PPF). We combine the film’s impact resistance with superior hydrophobic chemistry by putting a unique ceramic layer over the implanted PPF. This two-step method makes a big difference:
• Performance of self-cleaning (110°+ water contact angle)
• Resistance to environmental pollutants like acid rain, bird droppings, and industrial fallout
• Blocking UV radiation to keep the film from yellowing
• Increasing gloss with nanoparticles that bend light
With PPF installations growing by 23% per year, this coating turns temporary film protection into a full 5+ year protection system. This makes it an essential service for detail shops that want to attract high-end customers.
Ceramic coating complement paint protection film. It functions as a product that can be applied on Top of a PPF. The hydrophobic properties of Ceramic coatings can make water drops or rain beads up and leave no marks or stain the car paint.

Our 9H coating, Ganlas’ top-selling professional-grade product, offers detailing companies the best possible balance between performance and profitability. Its superior scratch resistance (9H pencil hardness) against minor scratches, vehicle wash brushes, and environmental abrasives accounts for its market domination.
• Simplified application (3-hour cure time as opposed to the industry standard of 5 hours)
• Immediate deep-wet gloss enhancement for client appeal
• Competitive durability (maintained for more than 24 months)
It meets 78% of daily driver protection demands and delivers 42% higher margin retention than entry-level coatings, making it the logical choice for volume-focused shops. It is positioned as the “bread-earner” in our lineup.
Graphene ceramic coating is a upgrade from the 9H ceramic coating, it is infused with Graphene materials that are combined with silicon dioxide /SiO2-for prolonged protection and max shine. Graphene coating is durable, and it forms a stronger(10H) layer on the paint surface. The thermal conductivity of graphene coating is superior, which minimizes the coating fading over a long period of time.
As an upsell for the regular coating options, Graphene coating is perfect fit your premium jobs, or the high-end luxury vehicles.

Graphene Ceramic Coating vs. 9H Ceramic Coating
(Comparison in English)

“9H Coating” usually refers to a hardness rating (9H pencil hardness), not a standalone in the coating category. Many quartz-based or graphene coatings claim to achieve 9H hardness or more. The core comparison should be: Graphene Coating vs. (Premium) SiO2-Based Coating.
9H Coating is primarily inorganic silica (SiO₂) or poly-silicane, forming hard layers via chemical reaction. It has Properties: “9H” which denotes hardness near 9H pencil rating (~6-7 Mohs). Focuses on scratch resistance but lacks flexibility.
“Still unsure which coating is your perfect for your job?
If you’re a PPF-focused shop: FS1 is your must-have add-on.
If you value balanced performance and profit: FS2 9H Coating is your best-seller.
If your client wants the best coating and they have a higher budget, FS3 Graphene will define your premium choice

Q: What Ganlas ceramic coating is better?
A: Ganlas 9H or Graphene Coating gives you lab-quality protection with its revolutionary >82% ultra-pure silica and silicon glass ceramic compound. This compound combines five different forms of pure SiO₂ at a higher concentration than other coatings. This coating, which is not diluted, cures into a 10μm-thick coating that is 9H-hard and resists scratches while making the surface shinier. It is made to work on several surfaces and lasts for three years without any additives. It also protects against UV rays. The coating liquid with no impurities provides maximum shine and immediate hydrophobicity. This makes Ganlas a top choice for detailing shops that value performance, durability and price level.
Q: How long does ceramic coating last?
A: Entry-level: 6 months – 2 years
Professional-grade: 2–5 years (e.g., Ganlas SiO₂)
Premium: 5+ years (e.g., graphene hybrids)
Pro Tip: Lifespan depends on prep quality, product tier, and maintenance.
Q: Will ceramic coating prevent scratches?
Yes, for light defects (swirls, bush scratches), But it could not stand for impacts. If we need to protect the paint from minor impacts from road debris or chips, we still need paint protection film (PPF) for better protection.
Q: What’s the difference between PPF and ceramic coating
A: Ceramic coating is a liquid ceramic material that forms a very thin layer on the vehicles’ paint and it is so thin that it does not have any meaningful protection to physical scratches or impacts. What it does the most is to keep the vehicle shiny and in good looks, and it helps the car wash easier. It forms a smooth, water-repelling-so-called hydrophobic property that keep the small dirt, dust or other stains stick the surface easily.
It also resists UV fading and oxidation. It has a hardness rating of up to 10H, which makes it easier to wash and lessens light swirl marks. But its minuscule thickness doesn’t really protect against scratches, rock chips, or collisions. Professional coatings last 2 to 5 years and cost less, making them perfect for cars kept in garages or city drivers who want a glossy finish and easy maintenance.
Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a thick (6–10 mil), flexible TPU or TPH film that you put on like a vinyl wrap. It stops road hazards from getting to your car by absorbing rock fragments, gravel hits, small scratches, and even door dings. Premium PPF has “self-healing” technology that gets rid of light swirls when heat (such sunlight or warm water) hits them. It doesn’t work as well on chemical stains, but its strong structure protects for 5 to 10 years. It costs more ($2,000–$7,000+ for complete coverage), but you can replace damaged parts one at a time. PPF is important for people who drive on highways, off-road vehicles, or new cars in tough conditions where the paint needs to stay intact.
PPF and ceramic coating can come hand in hand and now the PPF and vinyl coating is available in market.
